All better

Hutson is all better now.  We ended up taking him to the doctor again last week because he had a fever for 5 days straight.  Well, he had his very first ear infection.   Poor guy.  I caught it the next day and went to the doctor yesterday.  I have an ear infection too and pink eye!  Hopefully my medicines will kick in soon and I'll be back to normal too.  Here's a picture I took today.  He was actually looking at me!

Down and out

Hutson is sick. We have a pediatrician appointment tomorrow to figure out if it is strep throat or not. It's going around at daycare. So, the boy usually never stops. He sleeps (most of the time) well and goes down easily for bed and most naps. But I've never found him like this. I put him on the couch and he laid down and closed his eyes. Poor guy...he must feel awful. However I'm secretly glad I got a picture of him with closed eyes and sucking his thumb. I've been too nervous I'd wake him recently to take a sleeping picture.

Update: Thankfully he only has a cold. No strep throat!

Baby Liam

Jenni and Earl let me take some pictures of Liam a couple of weeks ago. I finally finished editing them and here are some of my faves. For all those having babes in the near future...I'd love to get some more practice in if you're willing. :)

Red Hair

Mike and I get comments all the time on Hutson's red hair. The favorite question by far is "Where did he get his red hair?" For anyone who's wondered that I'll answer. Mike has a red beard and his family has lots of red hair in it (his brother, his grandad nicknamed "Red"). Apparently my hair was strawberry blonde as a child. I've asked my mom what color hair I had and she claims she doesn't remember (thanks Mom!) However my brother has assured me it had red in it. Maybe some of my childhood friends can comment they remember me being red headed. (I'm sure Anna remembers. She remembers more stuff about me as a child than I do.)

My favorite comment by far about Hutson's hair has been, "Is that natural?" (This was asked when he was approximately six months old.) When someone said this I was speechless and just looked at them. I've thought of all sorts of great comebacks now.

Today Mike emailed me with another funny comment. The lady who takes care of Hutson at the Jewish Community Center everyday told Mike that she's "taken to Hutson so much because of him being orange." This was very sweet but made me laugh. I just invision an orange child.
