I had some fun with Hutson today. I saw a picture like this recently and wanted to recreate it. Hutson did pretty well posing for me. I think it was because I was bribing him with the cupcake. The boy loves "birthday cake" as he says.

Hutson and I had fun this afternoon with some stickers he got for Valentine's Day from MawMaw and Pops. Thanks Mawmaw and Pops! Hutson enjoys putting them on his face and my face.


Hutson likes to lay down in various places.  He here is laying in our yard.  He also enjoys taking a rest at stores, playgrounds, bookstores, etc...

So I attempted to take some pictures of Hutson for his 2nd birthday. He wasn't terribly cooperative but I think I got a couple of cute ones.

In this first one he was protesting. You can almost read the word, "no" on his lips.  And notice the arched back.  I think two is gonna be F-U-N!

Happy Valentine's Day

Month 24 - February

We've been waking up to Hutson singing "Jingle Bells" and other songs recently. He's forming sentences very well now and most other people understand what he's saying.  We're excited about his 2nd birthday tomorrow!

Month 23 - January

We moved into our new house in January and are attempting to get settled in Austin. Hutson started a preschool/Mother's Day Out program. He seems to be really enjoying it.

Month 22 - December

In December we celebrated Christmas with Mike's parents, Uncle Joe and Aunt Ti, Grant and Megan and then again in Arkansas with my parents, Uncle Jeff, Aunt Nette Nette and Benton.  I discovered the Wii at my brother's house and had a lot of fun.  We closed on our new house and sold our Houston one (I miss that house a lot!).  Cute things Hutson said/did: After we closed on the house, Hutson ran through it saying, "I love it."  I gave Hutson a bagel with cream cheese and he said, "Oh a bagel...I love it."  However when asked if he loves me or Mike and would say  no.  

Month 21 - November

We started off November with Baylor's Homecoming.  We continued our tradition of watching the parade with Uncle Russy and stayed with our good friends Lauren and Clay Polson in Waco. We also got to spend some time with my good friend Rachel and her little boy, Isaac, while in Waco. We visited Mike's parents at their camp in Jasper, Texas and Mike killed a deer. We were also visited by our friends Laura, Owen, Sharron, Elyse and Sharron's mom. Cute things Hutson did: says "hi-o", tells grandparents, "I miss you" on the phone, started walking on his tip toes, will say "I see you." We also found out Mike passed the BAR and he was sworn in as an attorney here in Austin.

Month 20 - October

In October, Hutson, Mike, and I visited my parents again. We met my good friend Anna's little boy, Owen. They had a blast together. Hutson starting telling us to "kiss it" whenever he fell and hurt himself. He would also say, "Sic 'em Bear" when asked in anticipation of Baylor's Homecoming. We discovered Hutson LOVES playing with rocks. My favorite in October was during a visit to one of the many preschools Hutson and I toured in October. The director of one of the preschools was showing us the playground and I said that Hutson doesn't really like the swings. Hutson quickly responded saying, "I like it, I like it."

Month 19 - September

In September we had a great party, told our friends and family bye, and moved to Austin. Hutson had a hard adjustment period and asked to go "home" a lot. I'm still adjusting and Hutson is fine.

Month 18 - August

In August, Lynette and Benton (our sister-in-law and nephew) came for a visit.  We took Hutson and Benton to the zoo.  It was Hutson's first time.  Hutson started twirling in circles and kicking a ball.  He got his first haircut.  He also stated saying, "I know" when we would say "I love you."  Mike interviewed here in Austin and got the job.  It was his first interview!!
