stitches - one year later

Last August (on the 22nd to be exact), Hutson fell and we got his first stitches.  You can barely tell this year!  Thanks to the docs at Seton Northwest here in Austin.  Click on the picture to see it larger and really see the scar.

what 3 1/2 looks like

I attempted to take some pictures for Hutson's 3 1/2 year mark which fell on August 14th (yesterday).  However being 39 weeks pregnant makes it hard.  I'm not nearly as agile while pregnant.  I also apparently dress my child in Miami Vice type attire so excuse that.  In my head the outfit looked much cuter.  oh well...live and learn!

and here's 2 1/2...
and 18 months...

firetruck visit

Last month, a firetruck and fire people came to visit at Hutson's school.  I was unable to be there but another mom captured the fun.  Apparently they sang a song to the fire people and Hutson was extrememly animated about it I was told.

pics from the weekend

As this pregnancy almost comes to an end, my desire to take pictures is returning!  I'm so excited about that.  I've had little motivation to do so for the last 9 months.  Anyway I got the camera out this weekend and snapped a few around the house.  I really love the first one.  I think it's so sweet.  Hutson also humored me (with a little bribe) for the last two.  He really loves that shirt and is so proud of it.

In other news, Mike finished painting the baby's room!  Hutson's room has been transformed into a big boy room.  Even though he's been sleeping in a twin sized bed since February the crib has been stored in his room until we cleared out and painted the baby's room.  I'll post some pics of Hutson's room soon.  The baby's room is still a work in progress...it's coming but slowly.

big brother class

On Saturday, Hutson took his official big brother class.  I was a little worried about signing him up for the class considering he doesn't sit still long.  We were really lucky there was only one other student who happened to be 3 also.  Perfect!  The instructor basically gave the kids pointers on helping mom and dad with the baby.  Hutson really enjoyed dressing the baby, diapering the baby, and carrying her around the hospital.  He still needs a little more practice with being gentle but we're getting there.  We even got to go by the hospital nursery and view the babies there.  And please notice his big bro shirt....he's very proud of it.  In fact, he insists he's already a big brother when anyone tells him or suggests he'll be a big brother soon.

Here's the other student.  The instructor really liked Hutson's hair.

Snacks at the end!
