Hutson 2 months:

Ella 2 months:
9lbs 4 oz (10%), 22 1/4 inches (50%), 39 cm head circumference (50%)

4 months:

Hutson: 14lbs, 4 oz (50%)  and 24 1/2 inches (50%)
6 months:
Ella: 13 lbs (5%), 25 in (25%) and head circumference 41.5 (25%)
Hutson: 16lbs, 4oz (50%), 25 3/4 in (25%)

It's looking like Ella is just going to be small.  Smaller than Hutson was which surprises me.  I think her percentile decrease in the weight department comes from her constant moving.  This kid doesn't stop!  I'm thinking she might be one of those people who goes through life full force.  She doesn't seem to have the caution Hutson did at this age.  It seemed to take him a long time before he got the courage to crawl or walk or sit up.  Ella just does it.

Some of her milestones this month:
-She's effectively crawling.  It looks a little like a traditional crawl coupled with a commando crawl.
- She can sit up for long periods of time now.
- She's using her voice a lot now.  She makes funny little high pitched noises when she's excited or want attention.
-She's begun reaching for us when she wants to get picked up.
- She smiles a really big smile when she's accomplished something new.
- She's eating banana, rice cereal, and avocado and seems to really like all three.
- She's trying hard to get from the laying down position into the sitting position (this just started yesterday).

A few pictures.  I haven't gotten to the dress pictures yet but hope to this weekend.

I really think she looks a lot like Mike in the last picture.  His smile and the way her eyes are smiling.  :)

Ella at 6 months

I made another video.  These are so fun and I wanted to commemorate her 1/2 year mark.  I can't believe it's been six months already.  They have flown by.  I will have her 6 month stats soon.

so close

Eleanor is so close to crawling.  I'm not encouraging it but that's not stopping her.  She can get her legs to do what they are supposed to do but her arms aren't cooperating quite yet.  She usually just kind of lunges forward and can easily get to where she wants to go.

Here's one pic from Eleanor's second meal that I thought was cute and I wanted to share.

first foods

I'm in denial Eleanor is growing up.  I just want her to stay this cute little happy baby forever but I decided I needed to face reality tonight and start her on solids.  She'll be 6 months next week.  So I was thinking she'd probably hate it.  Hutson never liked rice cereal and Ella won't take a bottle so I figured I'd do the rice cereal thing and next week start on a banana or avocado.  Well I was wrong.  She seemed to quite enjoy the cereal and you'll see she was licking off the tray.  She especially liked trying to hold the spoon.  She got so excited with the spoon she flipped some cereal on her head.    She really made us laugh.

my fave from the night.  :)

Happy 4th Birthday Hutson!

It's so hard to believe Hutson is four.  It's been such an amazing year with an amazing little guy.  He's been such a trooper.  He went from being the center of our world to sharing it with a little sister.  And while there have been some hiccups, he's handled everything so well.  I'm so proud of my dude.  Happy Birthday my baby big boy!  We love you!

snow day 2011

We had a snow day today.  No school for Hutson and no work for Mike.  Hutson and I had fun playing in the snow.  We made snow bunnies, had a snowball fight, and just had a great time in all the snow.  When we woke up this morning there was at least an inch of snow on the ground.  The streets were covered.  It quickly melted after the sun came out but because Hutson was so excited about it he was up at 5:45 this morning.  Ella hung out inside with the exception of one or two pictures to commemorate her first snow.  I'll have more pictures later but for now I'm going to bed!
