We were in Mississippi about two weeks ago. We had a great trip. Hutson was excited to see his cousin Benton. I got to spend some time with good friends and family. Ella enjoyed visiting with her cousin, Mia, and seeing grandparents. I was able to snap a few pics on my parents' front porch. I have lots more to go through but loved these.

a few lately
I've been super busy lately but have been meaning to come and post. Lots has happened that mainly includes a few trips to Houston, Ella starting "school," and my return to work (part-time)! Here are a few images from the past few weeks.
A cute one I took today of her playing in the bath. She loves bath time.
MawMaw and Hutson during our last trip to Houston/Fulshear. Super cute! The boy is really not enjoying me taking many pictures of him. Ella can't vocalize her objections yet.
Hutson, Ella, and I went to the park this week. Ella rode in the swing for the first time. She liked it! This was about the only pic where she was looking at the camera.
First day of school. She wasn't really interested in picture taking. I could barely get one taken when she'd start crawling off!
Sweet brother and sister. They love each other most of the time.

his hair
Everywhere we go we get comments on Hutson's hair. People always comment on his red, curly locks. I love it too and so does Eleanor. She will often crawl towards him and try to grab it. It's pretty cute but Hutson's generally howls because she pulls it. This image makes me giggle.

first bath together
Hutson and Ella briefly shared a bath together last night. Hutson was really excited about the idea until he got upset Ella was playing with one of his cars. This sibling rivalry stuff starts early! I documented the occasion with a few pictures.

Ella and I had some fun a few days ago before she ate lunch. Isn't she the cutest? I love the top middle one.

soccer-first game
A warning...this post is picture heavy...even for me.
Saturday was Hutson's very first soccer game. He's been so excited for practices and then was really excited about the game. We didn't tell him until the morning of the game or he would not have slept the night before. He was so proud Mike's parents came to see him play too. All of us ended up being impressed with the game. The kids actually seemed like they knew what they were doing. And Hutson had a ball.
Before the game, the guys got directions and one had a snack. The boy to Hutson's right is his best friend, Milo.
They are big buds and were pumped to be on the same team. Mike was a little miffed about the shirt color (Carolina blue). It was if they were just rubbing it in that Duke didn't make the Sweet Sixteen this year. Mike's dad took this shot.
The team name (chosen by the kids) is Tiger Eagles. Here are the Tiger Eagles getting pumped for the game.
Hutson and the other guys had to wait on the sideline for their turns to play. Everyone gets to play and it ended up being pretty even. Hutson loved playing...if nothing he is enthusiastic!
It's finally his turn! The four boys in the middle go to the same preschool. The coach is the curly head's dad.
My guy taking a bow. He's not shy and loves the limelight. Can't you tell.
This was where I was the most impressed and proud. Hutson got the ball! He ran down the field with it and scored!! wow! The next three shots were taken by Mike's dad.
He then got to kick it in after some sort of penalty. I was too busy taking pictures to really know exactly what happened with the penalty.
School buds sharing a snack after the game. Aren't they cute in their shinguards and cleats? Mike wanted me to point out that they don't keep score but Hutson's team scored lots of goals (Hutson assisted with one and scored another) and the other team only got one goal. :)

a smiling image
I was told Eleanor looked a little sad in the last post so I thought I'd post one of her happier. She's just not a morning person (I can totally relate). this was taken in the afternoon and I just love it! It's not technically perfect but it's perfectly her!

Welp, my camera died on my the other day during a shoot. So I got a new one. I'm so excited about it. Here's one of my first images with it. Ella was tired as this was right before her nap.

she's fast!
When Hutson was a baby he attended the Jewish Community Center's daycare/preschool in Houston. His first teacher, Ms. Thelma, always said he was "fast." She meant he was in a hurry to get moving and do more things. Every day we picked him up she'd say, "that boy is fast." It made us smile and we think Eleanor might be "faster." We had to lower the crib this week...she's pulling up. She is also successfully going from laying to sitting like a pro. When she wakes up and we go into get her she's always sitting up. It's almost like she can't not do it. I couldn't capture her pulling up to her feet because I was nervous she'd fall out of the crib.
She still falls over but is persistent. Beginning again.
Still happy!

birthday boy
Hutson had his birthday party back in February and I failed to blog about it until now. He had a few requests for his party. #1 He wanted it to be at the Children's Museum again #2 He wanted everyone to wear party hats. #3 He wanted a chocolate cake with chocolate icing and yellow writing. It's so great having a 4 year old and being able to grant everyone of those wishes for a birthday and party. He couldn't even come up with something he wanted for his birthday, but was so excited which each gift he got. Love that boy!
Ella had a lot of fun too!
