failure

So my New Year's Resolution of taking a picture a day didn't last too long. Hutson became sick this week and it just became too much. He was starting to cry every time I got my camera out. I don't want him to hate the camera...that's sad. It was also starting to become a pain to me. I like taking pictures and want to want to do it. Anyway so I'm done and I'm a failure on the New Year's Resolution but that's okay because it's better for me and Hutson. It's good to stop sometimes.

So here are some I took in the last few days that I liked before Hutson got sick. He's got a really bad cold and it's no fun. Last night he was up every hour. I would walk in his room and he would tell me, "rub it" meaning he wanted me to wipe his nose. Poor guy.

Obama

We were trying to get Hutson to say Obama for the camera. Mike was behind him here trying to get him to say some things. He was whispering so Hutson in turn whispered most of it. It looks like he is just mouthing the words. At the beginning you can hear him say Obama but it's more like "Obamba." He's just such a little ham. :)

Shake your groove thing

I found this video today. Mike, Hutson, and I visited Rachel, Garin, and Isaac Hill over the holidays at Rachel's mom's house. Hutson loved this dancing snowman and danced along.

Today Hutson went to school and I was able to watch the inauguration. Hutson had a parade and received a little flag to wave. He will only wave it when we hum "Hail to the Chief." He also got some new boots that he loves. :)

Hutson and I play a game sometimes when I'm trying to take his picture. He starts running toward me while yelling and just plows into me. I catch him and tickle him and then it starts over. It's loads of fun! Here's the result of yesterday's game. Some of them aren't in focus but it's hard to catch him...he's very quick.

MawMaw (Mike's mom) has a basket of Christmas cards on her coffee table. Hutson enjoyed reading the small "books" as he called them. Here he is enjoying one on a pillow.

trip to the zoo

Hutson and I joined some friends on Friday at the Houston zoo. We had a lot of fun. Hutson even got to ride with Owen in his great wagon!

1/7: I know I took one on 1/6 but I can't find it.  I'm afraid I accidentally deleted it.  This one I forgot and went and snapped one of him asleep.  He didn't even wake up but squinted due to the flash.
1/8: Hutson loves to paint and draw.  He barely noticed me taking pictures.

1/9: the periscope broke off his little playset.  I think he likes it more now that it's off.

picture a day

So one of my New Year resolutions is to attempt to take a photo a day of Hutson. I've done pretty well so far and have taken one every day since 1/1/09. Well I can't find one from the 6th but I know I took one. So here they are so far.

New Year's Day! Before the big fall.

After. Poor guy had a nasty fall.

not a baby anymore

Agh! My baby is gone. He looks so much like a little boy here.

Today Hutson said his ABCs all the way through by himself! I was surprised because we were in the car and he just said them. Ask him to say it though and he won't. All on his terms.

Christmas Day

Hutson opening gifts and his stocking. I didn't take too many pictures and was trying to enjoy the moment.

Hutson loved Benton's playhouse outside.  Lucky boy got a similar one from Mike's parents.

more Christmas Eve

Hutson and Benton put out cookies for Santa.  Hutson was still enjoying carrots.

Aunt Nette Nette read the Night Before Christmas to the boys.

Christmas Eve

Hutson and Benton being reindeer.

Lynette (Aunt Nette Nette) gave the boys carrots to feed to the reindeer.
Hutson putting (or throwing) out carrots for the reindeer.
Hutson enjoyed eating the carrots rather than putting them out for the deer.
Looking and smiling!  Excuse the big bruise on his head.  He has one permanently now it seems like.  Poor guy is just not coordinated.
