Owen- 3 months

I was fortunate to take Owen Stepp's 3 month old (well really four) pictures this morning.  Here is one I especially liked.  Thanks Laura and Nick for letting me practice on your kid.  

Harper Camp

Mike's parents have a camp where they all hunt and fish.  Mike, Hutson, and I spent the weekend there with Mike's parents and Grant.  Grant was a willing model for me!

Just a fun shot the other day. Obviously I photoshopped it. I don't know why but it really cracks me up! Maybe I'm a dork.

The boy and his hat

The boy loves this hat. He got it for his 1st birthday at daycare. Mike puts it on him or me and sings Happy Birthday while we all dance around. But Hutson loves to wear it around the house. Here are some snapshots of him playing with it on and then the last one is of my and the boy using the remote for my camera.

Bayou Bend

Finally over!

Yay!!!!! Mike graduates from law school tomorrow, May 9th. It's also my birthday. What a great birthday present to me. However I'm still expecting real presents from Mike too. Here are some pictures of Mike in his robe.

I took this one with my remote for the camera. The camera was on a tripod so that's why the angle is weird and NOT flattering. It almost looks like a 6 year old is taking our picture. Notice Hutson's expression. He kept looking at us and then looking toward the camera. I'm sure he thought we were nuts for smiling and looking at the camera with no one behind it.





Hutson really wasn't into pictures today.

I got a new lens for my birthday. It's Friday. I was trying it out today. I just love this picture. It is technically all wrong. Not quite in focus and the composition isn't the greatest. There's also dirt on his face, BUT I love it and it really shows his sweet personality. He rarely looks at me and smiles when I have the camera in his face.

Another Baylor swing picture. I loved this one because of the peeking. We were playing peek a boo...one of his favorite games.

Baylor Trip

Mike, Hutson and I visited friends in Waco this weekend. Mike went to a Chamber function while Hutson, Lauren Plog Polson, and I went to Baylor's campus to walk around and take some pictures. We had a lot of fun spending time with Lauren and Clay Polson. This is the first of such pictures. I'll post more tomorrow night.

The window, the boy, and the neighbor

So yesterday I was practicing photography yet again attempting a silhouette picture of Hutson. He wasn't being terribly cooperative but that usually doesn't stop me. Anyway, I directed Mike to put him in our window sill (is that how you spell that?) that's more like a window seat. I was snapping away when I see a neighbor in our flower bed! She saw Hutson in the window and was concerned he was going to get hurt. She saw me soon after this picture was taken and I think was embarassed but it made Mike and I laugh a lot! Mike was a little miffed she was in the flower bed, but I was thankful if something really bad was happening someone's looking out for us. I also thought it was cute that Hutson told her "hi" when she walked up.

Okay so I'm contemplating maybe taking pictures one day for profit on a part-time basis. I don't feel like I'm ready yet and will wait a couple of years before I start. Anyway I do want a name for my little hobby so I can get my name out there and so I can start another blog for it. Mike says only pictures of Hutson should go on Hutson's blog. (He's protective of his boy.) Please, please tell me which you like AND tell me why if you don't mind. I included Callie Carruth Photography even though that's my maiden name. It seems to flow well I think (good job on picking names Mom and Dad).
