Two faves from the day

Yay for eye contact! This has been elusive lately. :)

Our day

Hutson and I visited a great park this morning. While Hutson played I practiced with my camera.

Here he is closing his eyes...a new fascination. He's learned it doesn't work very well while walking. :)

Playing with the steering wheel. He now loves cars, trucks, trains, planes, and any other mode of transportation.

We have a pants problem now. I can't find any that fit him correctly. These are sized 12 months! He's 20 months now. He's getting taller and his waist seems to be shrinking.
Again with the waist problem.  I think he is waving at a passerby here and showing her the rocks he collected.  :)
cool playground!  They call them playscapes here in Austin.

Harper boys

Pops (Mike's dad) is retiring. We all got together this weekend to celebrate. I took some groups pictures and this one is of the Harper boys. I have no idea why Hutson is being so cheesy. I've never asked him to say cheese. However he has this new fascination with closing his eyes...maybe that's what he's doing.

sticks

Hutson has a new love...sticks. This was taken by a park near out apartment. The lake is great and Hutson enjoys the ducks there.

help

Last week Hutson ate everything I put in front of him (broccoli, carrots, apples, cheese, bread, chicken, rice, lots of milk). This week all he wants is cereal for EVERY meal, then to top it off he wants some cheese. I've tried to get him to eat something else but all he will eat is cereal and milk. He doesn't appear to be teething. Any suggestions? I'm so frustrated. Mainly because cereal and milk is SO messy. :) I figure eventually he'll eat something else.

Pumpkin Patch

Mike, Hutson, and I invited our good friends Allie and Robert to go pumpkin picking on Saturday. Unfortunately there were no pumpkins to pick. They were just out to pick from. Mike, Allie, Robert, and I were a little disappointed we couldn't pick a pumpkin but Hutson had a blast exploring the farm. He really just loved running around. They also had some goats he loved.

an older one

I was going through some older pictures tonight and found this one from June. It's just so sweet.

Fun Picture Tag

Here's a new tag that is actually pretty simple to do.
Open your pictures folder
Go to the SIXTH folder
Go to the SIXTH picture
Publish it to a NEW POST and tell the story of the photo

Story:  This is part of Hutson's 2nd Easter.  For his first Easter I took pics of him on this chair so I did it again for his 2nd Easter to demonstrate how much he grew.  Just snapshots but I love them.  And it's so fun to see how much he's grown since then.

I tag: Laura, Sharron, Anna, and Rachel.  Post yours too!

the look and rocks

This is the look. The look I get right before Hutson does something he knows I don't want him to do. Usually I'll say "Hutson, no" or "Hutson don't put that rock in your mouth." He seems to take great joy in doing whatever I don't want him to do then beaming at me. So here is the look and then the undesired action. He is so trying to get a rise out of me.  :)

Again he loves to show me rocks.
walking away with a rock.  My parents have a gravel driveway.  He would have spent all weekend there if I would have let him.

Digging in the rocks.  he loves to get dirty and to rub dirt into his pants.

Hutson and Owen

One of my oldest and best friends was in MS when I was. I've known Anna since we were about two or three. Anna remembers more about my childhood than I do! She has been a part of almost every major event in my life. I love her! She's one of those friends that I can just pick back up with as if no time has passed. We got our boys together this past weekend. Anna's guy is named Owen and he's just so cute. He's a year older than Hutson but Owen is tall for his age and Hutson is short for his age, so Owen looms over Hutson. The two boys seemed to be a lot alike and both seem to enjoy some of the same things including running, playing in the dirt, and getting into everything.

Owen was really sweet with Hutson.  I just love this picture!
Anna's parents live on a farm with lots of cows.  We took a ride on their mule (ATV type thing pictured below).  Owen and Hutson had fun blowing the horn after we stopped.
Some cows in the field.  Normally I wouldn't take pictures of cows because we see them all the time in Texas and MS, but I wanted one for the blog.  :)
Boys admiring some crickets.
Owen had enough of my picture taking!  This one makes me laugh.

Mississippi

Callie's parents live in Mississippi. Hutson and I went for a visit this week and Mike met us on Friday. Here are some pictures from the beautiful morning fog. And this is my parent's front yard! Isn't it great...I love all the trees.

Hutson with Daddy Jim.
Running...sort of.  :)

Rocks rock!

Hutson has a new love...rocks. He picks them up where ever we are and loves to look at them or hand them to me. Today he even tried to eat one of them. He especially loves picking them up right outside our new apartment. Take a look.
