Eleanor's arrival

It's been a month since Ella arrived and I haven't updated the blog yet.  Sorry about that.  I'll start with her birth.  I had a planned c-section because of my previous c-section with Hutson and complications after his birth.  Turned out she was breech/transverse anyway so even if I had tried to have her vaginally it would have ended up being another c-section.  So we were told to be at the hospital around noon on August 20th.  It was kind of a bizarre feeling to get checked in and then prepare for her birth/c-section.  Here's a shot of Mike and me.  I was pretty anxious about the whole thing and it ended up being a breeze but when this pic was taken I was pretty nervous.  It was nice to goof off and forget about the upcoming surgery for a second.

Turned out great though!  I had some amazing nurses and a great anesthesiologist.  The anesthesiologist even took our first picture of the three of us.  The only hiccup was that she was transverse.  After the doctor opened me up she said, "Where's the baby?"  She was so high up the doc couldn't see her.  Soon my OB found her and pulled her out.   She weighed in at 6lbs 15oz and was 20 inches long.  We were shocked because Hutson was 9lbs, 1oz and just knew she'd be at least 8 lbs.  We think she might be around 8lbs now at one month!  Here are some shots of right after she was born.

She nursed great and right away in the recovery room.  And she's been doing great so far with that.  Hutson got to see her right after I was moved into a real room.  He was so excited to see her and exclaimed, "Her is so cute!"  Then he said, "Mom it's a boy."  After I told him she was a she and he said no that she was a boy because because she didn't have any hair.
Our first family picture.

This one was taken the next day after some of my swelling had gone down.
